In those days I used to write my essay...

I like a Japanese anime, "Neon Genesis Evangelion". The content is very philosophical and theorogical. I can recommend it to you.

There are some important notions for the understanding of this anime. One is "AT Field"(Absolute Terror Field). It's like barrier, giant enemies have it, and nothing can penetrate AT Field.

And human beings also have each AT-Field. They become "Primordial soup" without it, so they can no longer keep their bodies as human beings.

In NGE, AT-Field is explained as "Walls of heart", it separates one's ideantity from other egos. AT Field is Absolute Terror Field, so the terror creates the border to others. Humans can never live without terror to others.

It's impossible to understand others completely, it's doubtful if we know even all of myself. In order to understand one person, all we can is just guess through his words,attitudes, and actions.

When we know all about another, we would become the one with him. The border between I and YOU has collapsed, there's NO terror anymore.

So I wonder, to be me is in the end to fear others.

Life is full of hardships, whereas, it's fun. It's just like the beer is delicious after hard work.

To the question - "What do humans live for?", many people have tried to answer in each way. So will I.

"Humans live for encounters"

It's good to meet someone that has a close sense of view to yours, but things are not so easy. Occasionally you meet hateful people, possibly so hateful that you feel like killing them.

Encounter is not only with people, but also with such arts as books and music, and with religion. Human's feeling become insired by them.

I will quote my "encounter" from the Bible.


From the Evangelion according to John, 13 : 33, 34

33"My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.

34"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. "


The action of love comes not only from the affection. The point is "As Jesus Christ lovd us". Love is similar to rain. And all of us are the cup for receiving it. Rain falls so much that cup becomes full and it overflows and the water falls into another cup.

It's a bit away from encounter, but love is connected with a Japanese word, "Ichigo-Ichie"( means: you should treasure even one little encounter because you might never meet the person again)

Treasure one encounter means think a lot of the person, think a lot of him/her means love him/her.

One book says "Love someone means hope him not to die". I think it's the same.
